§ Trade / Studios & practices

Studio websites, built before you pay.

Press designs websites for studios, practices, and professional services (architects, designers, consultants, clinics) that read as credible at a glance: the work up front, the services clear, the credentials in place, and an enquiry that reaches you. We build the finished site first and show it to you free; you pay only if you keep it.

§ i / Proof

Not a template. A site we pressed.

Every preview is hand-built in its own design language. Here is one we pressed on spec for Plinth, a architecture studio: a real, browsable site, the kind of proof you would get for your own trade.

§ ii / The brief

What a studio or practice website actually needs

  • A work or project index that lets the portfolio speak
  • Services stated plainly, so enquiries arrive pre-qualified
  • The credentials and about that build trust
  • An enquiry form that reaches the right inbox
  • A clear, confident position: who you are for
  • Fast, restrained pages that read as considered, not cluttered
§ iii / The trade

A practice site is judged before it is read

For a studio or a practice, the website is usually the second thing a prospective client sees, right after a referral or a search result. They are not reading yet. They are deciding, in a couple of seconds, whether you look like the kind of outfit that handles work like theirs. Restraint reads as competence here in a way that decoration does not, which is why the work goes first and the copy stays short.

Once they do read, the thing that changes your week is how plainly the services are stated. Vague positioning produces enquiries from people who cannot afford you and projects that are not the work you want. Naming what you do, who you do it for, and what a typical engagement looks like filters the inbox before it reaches you, so the enquiries that arrive are closer to briefs than to questions.

Credentials do the quiet part: registrations, professional bodies, years in practice, the names you are allowed to mention. For clinics and consultancies especially, that layer is what turns a good-looking page into one someone will send a real enquiry through.

§ v / Questions

The honest detail.

No. 01Can you show a portfolio or project index?

Yes, a work or project index is core to the build, laid out so the portfolio does the selling. It fits comfortably within the included pages.

No. 02We are a clinic / consultancy, not a design studio. Does this fit?

Yes. The pattern (credible work or credentials up front, clear services, an enquiry that reaches you) is the same for any practice or professional service. The design is tailored to your field.

No. 03How much does a studio website cost?

The preview is free. You keep the finished site for one flat, one-time fee (no deposit, no monthly charge), with the source code yours on payment.
