A surf film collective — formed on the road, 2019

chasing the long way home

We make slow films about fast water — shot on 16mm, from the channel and the cliff, with boards we shaped ourselves.

Now showing — Reel 01 · The Long Way Home

You can't hurry a swell. It was made a thousand miles away, days ago, by weather you never saw. Our films work the same way.

The films

Three reels, one ocean

Each film takes a season or two. We'd rather wait for the water than pad the runtime — when there's nothing to say, the camera stays in its housing.

From the director

"You don't make a surf film. You wait for one, with the camera running and your back to the wind."
